The Moonbat Chicks
Michelle Malkin talks about the Dixie Chicks in the latest Vent. Here’s an interesting quote that she cites:
Martie Maguire: I’d rather have a small following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life, than people who have us in their five-disc changer with Reba McEntire and Toby Keith. We don’t want those kinds of fans. They limit what you can do.
Reminds me of another band that had trouble keeping fans:
Marty: The last time Tap toured America, they where, uh, booked into 10,000 seat arenas, and 15,000 seat venues, and it seems that now, on the current tour they’re being booked into 1,200 seat arenas, 1,500 seat arenas, and uh I was just wondering, does this mean uh…the popularity of the group is waning?
Ian: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no…no, no, not at all. I, I, I just think that the.. uh.. their appeal is becoming more selective.
More selective… Yeah, that’s it.
