I believe it prudent to express what I will do with the scholarship if I win. I intend to book a trip to the Eternal City, Rome. $2000 would be more than enough, especially as I know some friends who have figured out how to travel cheap (hint: monasteries!). I would bring my camera, and probably my laptop as well, and live-blog my European Adventure. So, please, make sure you have voted for my blog! I have now decided that, if I win the scholarship competition, I will donate 1/2 the prize money (that is, $1000) to the Solidiers’ Angels fund. Why the change of heart? Well, it actually happened when I was joking with my friends about what to do with the prize money. Everything that was suggested involved only a private benefit, to me and maybe a few friends. The more I thought about it, the more I didn’t want to have it go down that way.
Yes, I am keeping some of the money, which may go to travelling, or it may go to paying off some of my student debt. But $1000 will be donated if I win. Please, if you have not already done so, go and vote.
