About

Welcome to my (very) humble blog. I’m Denis, and I’ll be your host for the remainder of your stay.

I’m a conservative, in case you couldn’t tell. But I still think I’m a pretty nice guy. What kind of conservative? Gosh, who knows. National Review is my publication of choice, and my blog roll should give an indication of the opinions I don’t disagree with at least. I’m not a neocon, not a paleocon, definitely not a Crunchy Con, just a con I guess.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, I got my BA in Philosophy and Classical Studies at Roger Williams University (Class of 2005). I currently attend the University of Dallas, working on my MA in Politics. So far, I’ve taken courses that help me better understand political philosophy as it relates to the American Founding, as well as some courses about ancient & medieval political thought.

I’m a Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree). I’m also an Eagle Scout. To me, there is no place better than Cape Cod, no matter what the weather. I like watching movies (any kind), and grabbing a beer or two (or three) and discussing the Big Questions with my friends. I love reading, especially the Great Books. But I hate ninjas.

    Denis,

I enjoyed your site. I am a UD grad (’92) and am also from the Bay State (Pembroke). Just thought I’d say hey.

I was intrigued when I saw your last name because it is also mine. It is possible that we are related, as I also come from New England. I’d be interested in talking about family history with you, if you are so inclined.

I’m polictically conservative myself. I am also supporting Fred Thompson for President, as you appear to be doing.

Please stop my blog sometime. I have a very eclectic blog in which I talk about politics and other things as well.
