Just Needed a Little Help
Via the Anchoress, who must implicitly admit to the moral superiority of Red Sox fans, I saw this nice Youtube video:
That’s great. I don’t think the audience is laughing at the singer, but rather with him (I wouldn’t have posted this if I didn’t think that was true).
Of course, this kind of thing can’t happen in Yankees Stadium. It’s too empty!

It’s looking good.
Curt Schilling looks to be staying with the Red Sox.

Red Sox Day 2007
Today is the day of the “Rolling Rally” to celebrate the victory of the Red Sox in the World Series. Once again, the Sox will be riding the famous “duck boats” of Boston from Fenway, down Boylston, up Tremont, to Downtown Boston. Papelbon will dance, and the Dropkick Murphys will perform. I’ll try to snap some pictures, of course, but I can’t promise anything: as I was walking to work this morning, people were already lining up against the barriers. I might not even be able to see anything!
Here’s the map of the parade route; my school is near the intersections of Marlborough and Exeter, and I need to get to Back Bay station. I don’t think it’s going to happen. The Copely Square “stop” is not where it is on the map, but on the corner closer to Boylston. I saw a ton of news vans and the stage already setup.
It’s a very exciting day in Boston, as this city takes its sports teams VERY seriously. I know I do.
And oh by the way: I BELIEVE!

RED SOX WIN!
The Boston Red Sox are the 2007 World Champions! WOOHOO!!

Curt Schilling reflects on his blog: “God has his fingerprints all over this game.”
Makes sense.

Our Lady of the Red Sox
Or so I thought, when I saw these banners hanging off the Old South Church in Boston today:
Go Red Sox!!
(And for the record, this picture was taken my brand-new iPhone.)

World Series Game 1: CO 1, Sox 13
I hate a blow-out, but I’ll let it slide this time!

First Time in 12 Years
Boston Red Sox clinch the AL-East: they win, the Yanks lose. I like that formula.

Red Sox beat the Yankees.
Saw the last part of it, from about the 7th to the end. Great game. I spent the extra money and bought a Sam Adams to celebrate.
The BoSox wore green yesterday, in honor of Red Auerbach.

“Great is baseball…”
“…The national tonic. The revival of hope. The restorer of confidence.”

Yes, after a wonderful Easter brunch, I went to the Red Sox/Rangers game. The Sox had lost the last two against the Rangers, but this would be special: I would be there!!

David Ortiz got us started with a HR, but the Rangers came right back in the 1st. Ortiz’s next at bat was another HR, with some on second. After Schilling left the game, the Sox’s first closer walked three guys, and one eventually came around for a run. Papelbon came in during the 8th, runners on all the bases, and only one out!! In a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat final 1.5 innings, Papelbon K’Oed 3 of 5, saving the Sox.

Sox WIN, 3-2. It was a very good day…

BoSox 0, Toronto 1
Not a good way to start the season. They play a couple colleges next, then Toronto again.

From the darkness to the light…
The time between the Super Bowl and Opening Day for the BoSox is always a dark, dark time for me. Luckily, the BoSox had an exhibition today against the Twins. Schilling had two scoreless innings, and the teams tied after 10 innings. Not too shabby…

BoSox vs. Yankees
For the record, the Red Sox schooled the Yankees 14-3. The Red Sox are now 20 & 12, while the Evil Empire is 18 & 12, putting them one game behind the Sox. Denis likes!

The Red Sox win…again!
The Red Sox won their home opener today against Toronto, 3-5. Figures as soon as I move away and no longer have access to the Red Sox games that more than anything I want to watch them play. Apparently I can buy the games off the MLB website for the bargain price of $70 a season. I love the Sox, but not that much.
Of course, I’m not opposed to some charity in that respect…

Go Bo Sox!!
I love writing that title. The Sox won again tonight against Baltimore, 2-1. The Red Sox are now 4-1 for the season, making them number 1 in the AL East (still one less than one game behind Detroit for the top spot in the AL). And oh by the way, the Yanks are down at the bottom of the AL East, right where they should be.
